The Chicago White Sox exploded for two seven-run innings and rolled past the Detroit Tigers, 15-3, on Wednesday night.
Chicago, which recorded 16 hits off three pitchers, snapped a 1-1 tie with seven runs in the fourth and broke the game open with seven more in the eighth.
Ramon Castro hit a three-run homer in the fourth while pinch-hitter Brent Lillibridge hit a three-run shot in the eighth to account for much of the damage.
Castro had two hits and drove in four runs while Lillibridge and Omar Vizquel had three RBIs apiece. Vizquel had three hits while Paul Konerko, Carlos Quentin and Mark Kotsay had two apiece.
Freddy Garcia (6-3) continued to pitch well for the White Sox. He gave up three runs and eight hits in seven innings and struck out four against one walk.
Alexei Ramirez hit a solo home run in the third to even things at 1-1 prior to the onslaught.
Rick Porcello (4-6) was hammered for eight runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings.
Brennan Boesch and Miguel Cabrera hit solo home runs for Detroit.
