Lucas Harrell tossed six strong innings to win his major league debut and the Chicago White Sox downed the Oakland Athletics 6-1 for their 12th straight win at home on Friday night.

Harrell was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to replace scheduled starter Daniel Hudson, who was traded to Arizona for pitcher Edwin Jackson earlier in the day. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed one run and pitched around four hits and five walks.

Harrell’s lone blemish was in the fourth on Cliff Pennington's RBI single.

Gordon Beckham drove in two runs with singles in the fourth and sixth innings to lead the White Sox, who have won 19 of 20 at U.S. Cellular Field. Chicago is 31-11 overall since June 9.

The White Sox broke away from a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth. A.J. Pierzynski's RBI single gave Chicago a 2-1 lead and Andruw Jones followed with an RBI groundout before Beckham's single.

Brett Anderson (2-2) lost in his first start since June 3. He allowed five runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
