Magglio Ordonez and Johnny Damon each drove in a pair of runs and the Detroit Tigers posted an 8-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.
Miguel Cabrera and Brennan Boesch had run-scoring hits as the Tigers scored all of its runs in two innings.
Trailing 4-0 going into the third inning, the Tigers scored three runs on a two-run double from Damon and an RBI groundout from Ordonez.
The Tigers pulled away by scoring five runs with two outs an inning later. Ryan Raburn and Ramon Santiago came home on a wild pitch from started Scott Feldman (1-2). Then Ordonez, Cabrera and Boesch connected for three straight doubles for the 8-4 lead.
Eddie Bonine (2-0) picked up the win with three innings of scoreless relief. Joel Zumaya and Jose Valverde combined for three more scoreless frames.
