Aubrey Huff homered twice and Matt Cain won his fourth consecutive start as the San Francisco Giants defeated the visiting Oakland Athletics 6-2 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep.
Huff had four RBIs, hitting two-run homers in both the sixth and eighth innings. His sixth-inning homer was part of back-to-back homers as Juan Uribe followed with a solo shot to give the Giants a 4-1 lead.
Kevin Kouzmanoff had a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth to pull Oakland within 4-2 prior on Huff’s second homer.
Cain (6-4) allowed one run and eight hits in seven innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Oakland starter Vin Mazzaro (2-1) gave up four runs – three earned – and six hits in six innings.
Bengie Molina had a run-scoring single for San Francisco’s first run. Landon Powell had an RBI single in the fourth for Oakland.
