John Ely continued the Arizona Diamondbacks’ offensive slumber as the Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander earned his first major-league win Tuesday in a 13-3 victory at Chase Field.

Ely (1-1) went six-plus innings while allowing two earned runs, six hits and no walks with six strikeouts.

It was the fifth straight loss for the Diamondbacks (14-20) and they enter Wednesday’s series finale with the Dodgers (16-17) in danger of going winless on their six-game home stand.

The Diamondbacks have scored a total of 12 runs in those last five losses. They now sit at the bottom of the National League West standings.

Arizona’s ace Dan Haren took the loss as he gave up 10 hits and four earned runs in 6 1/3 innings to fall to 4-2.

It appeared it was going to be a dominant start for the right-hander as the first nine outs he recorded were via all strikeout, setting a franchise record for consecutive K’s.

Haren finished with 10 strikeouts and one walk on the evening.

The damage started in the fourth inning when Haren was touched up for two runs on three straight doubles by James Loney, Casey Blake and Ronnie Belliard.

Loney finished with a career-high four hits in the game.

The Diamondbacks’ bullpen also continued to falter, allowing nine runs over the last three innings.
