Robert Andino stroked a three-run double with two outs in the eighth inning off Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon and the visiting Baltimore Orioles spoiled the Red Sox’s chances of picking up a game in the wild card standings with a 7-5 victory on Tuesday.

The Red Sox remained two games ahead of Tampa Bay in the American League wild card race as the Rays lost 5-0 at New York. Boston fell six games behind the Yankees in the AL East with seven to play.

The Orioles got three runs off Boston’s bullpen to erase a 5-4 deficit and send the Red Sox to their 15th loss in the last 19 games. Slumping Daniel Bard (2-9) took the loss. He was charged with two runs in 1 1/3 innings and Papelbon’s string of 25 straight successful save opportunities came to an end.

Andino had three hits, and Mark Reynolds added two hits and two RBIs for Baltimore.

Adrian Gonzalez had three hits including his 27th homer and drove in three runs for Boston. Dustin Pedroia had two doubles.

Baltimore scored four times off Boston starter Erik Bedard in the third. Nick Markakis doubled home Andino and Vlad Guerrero reached on an error by right fielder Josh Reddick that scored Markakis. Reynolds later added a two-run single to give the Orioles a 4-1 lead.

Bedard, making his first start in 17 days, went 2 2/3 innings and was charged with one earned run on five hits and two walks while throwing 76 pitches.

Willie Eyre (2-1) got the win in relief and Jim Johnson picked up his eighth save.
