Robinson Cano hit a bases-loaded double and Chris Dickerson belted his first home run in over two years as the New York Yankees rolled to a 9-3 road victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday.

Mark Teixeira also went deep for New York, which increased its lead over Boston in the American League East to four games.

Teixeira snapped a 1-1 tie and ignited a five-run rally in the fourth inning with a leadoff homer off reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez (14-12). Five batters later, Dickerson hit his first homer since May 17, 2009, with Cincinnati, a two-run shot for a 6-1 advantage.

Cano cleared the bases in the seventh with his third hit – and second double – of the night.

Phil Hughes (5-5) allowed one run and five hits over six innings for his first win in four starts.

Hernandez's three-game overall winning streak and five-game run against New York came to an end as he yielded six runs over six innings. It was just the second time in nine starts the righthander surrendered more than three runs.

Miguel Olivo hit a two-run homer for Seattle, which has lost nine of 12.
