Asdrubal Cabrera went 5-for-5 with two home runs and five runs batted in as Cleveland capped a three-game interleague sweep of Cincinnati with a 12-4 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Joey Votto gave the Reds an early lead with a solo homer in the first inning, but the Indians took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Cabrera hit a two-run homer against Edinson Volquez (3-2), and two more runs scored when Cincinnati catcher Ramon Hernandez made a throwing error on a steal attempt by Travis Buck.
Cabrera knocked Volquez out of the game when he hit a two-out RBI single in the third inning to make it 7-1. He added a solo homer against Sam LeCure in the sixth inning and another RBI single during Cleveland's four-run seventh. The homers and hits were a career high and the RBI tied a career high.
Carlos Carrasco (3-2) went six-plus innings for the win, yielding four runs on six hits and a walk. Volquez gave up seven runs on seven hits and four walks in just 2 2/3 innings.
