Nyjer Morgan ripped a bases-clearing double to highlight a five-run fifth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers cruised to a 6-2 victory over the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night for their seventh straight win.

Ryan Braun belted an RBI double, and Jonathan Lucroy and Corey Hart had run-scoring singles for first-place Milwaukee, which increased its lead to 3 1/2 games over St. Louis in the National League Central.

Zack Greinke (9-4) recorded his second straight win after allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings as the Brewers improved to 7-0 on their nine-game homestand.

With the game tied 2-2 in the fifth, Morgan crushed an offering from Chris Carpenter (6-8) to deep center to plate Lucroy, Greinke and Hart.

Carpenter saw his five-game winning streak end after he permitted five runs on seven hits in five innings.

Matt Holliday belted a two-run homer in the first for St. Louis.
