Luis Martinez singled home the go-ahead run with two outs in the bottom of the sixth off Daniel Hudson (10-7), who allowed four runs over six innings.

Brandon Allen homered and drove in three runs for Arizona, which was aiming for a series sweep after outscoring San Diego 10-4 in the first two games.

Luke Gregerson (3-3) earned the win in relief of Mat Latos, who gave up three runs on seven hits while striking out seven over 5 1/3 innings.

The subject of countless trade rumors this week, Padres closer Heath Bell worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 30th save of the season. San Diego improved to 15-21 in one-run games.
