Rangers 10, Yankees 6: Craig Gentry singled in two runs during a decisive three-run seventh and finished with three RBIs as visiting Texas broke out of its offensive slide and avoided a sweep at New York.

Adrian Beltre drove in three runs and scored a pair and Michael Young busted out of a slump with two hits and two RBIs for the Rangers, who more than doubled their run total from the first three games of the series.

The Yankees took the lead in a back-and-forth contest with a five-run sixth inning but Texas fought right back against the bullpen in the next frame. David Murphy tied it at 5-5 with an RBI double off Boone Logan (4-1) and Gentry capped the rally with a bases-loaded single to center off Joba Chamberlain, plating a pair.

Derek Holland allowed one hit through the first five innings but ran into trouble immediately in the sixth as Ichiro Suzuki led off with an infield single. Derek Jeter and Nick Swisher each singled in a run before Andruw Jones tied it with a two-run homer down the line in left, slamming the ball off the facing of the second deck.

Tanner Scheppers (1-0) came on for the final out in the sixth and ended up with the win in relief.

New York pulled back to within 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh but the Rangers continued to pile on with two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth to put the game away.
