Blue Jays 4, Angels 0: Jose Bautista blasted his fifth home run and Henderson Alvarez outdueled Ervin Santana as Toronto shut out Los Angeles for the second straight game.

The Blue Jays, who have won four straight and six of seven, scored three times in the third inning. Yunel Escobar hit an RBI single and Bautista followed with a two-run shot just over the fence in center field.

Alvarez (2-2) threw just 97 pitches en route to his first career complete game, giving up six hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Santana (0-6) remained winless despite giving up three runs on three hits with 10 strikeouts over eight innings.

Toronto starters have recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since June 16-17, 1993, when Jack Morris and Al Leiter accomplished the feat.

The Angels’ Albert Pujols went 0-for-4, dropping his average to .194 while extending his career-worst home run drought to 33 games and 137 at-bats.
