Mets 3, Braves 1: Lucas Duda belted a three-run homer in the seventh, lifting visiting New York to its seventh victory in the past eight games.

On a night where the Braves honored retiring third baseman Chipper Jones, Duda came through with the game’s big hit. He took Tim Hudson (16-7) deep to right-center field on a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the seventh - his 15th homer of the season - to rally New York from a 1-0 deficit.

Jon Niese (13-9) allowed just four hits and one run in seven innings with three walks and three strikeouts. His only blemish was Freddie Freeman’s 23rd homer of the season, a fourth-inning blast to right field to stake Atlanta to a 1-0 lead.

Hudson pitched well, giving up three runs on five hits in seven innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

Dan Uggla walked twice and ranks second in the majors in bases on balls with 93.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York’s Ruben Tejada extended his hitting streak to 10 games with an eighth-inning ground-rule double. … The announced attendance of 51,910 was the largest this season at Turner Field and the ninth-largest crowd in Atlanta Braves history. ... Jones was honored in a 35-minute pregame ceremony in which he was presented a proclamation from Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, a new pool table and a family vacation to Hawaii.
