Indians 5, Twins 0: Derek Lowe threw his first shutout in nearly seven years to earn his fourth straight victory and visiting Cleveland capped a two-game sweep of Minnesota.

Shin-Soo Choo, Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Santana all homered in the fifth inning to provide ample backing for Lowe, who beat the Twins for the first time in eight career starts.

The 38-year-old Lowe (6-1) allowed six hits and walked four to earn his first shutout since Aug. 31, 2005. It was his first complete game since 2008.

Cabrera and Casey Kotchman added RBI singles for Cleveland, which has won 10 of the last 11 meetings against the Twins.

Jason Marquis (2-3) lost his third straight start, giving up all five runs on nine hits in five innings as Minnesota fell to a major league-worst 10-26.

With the Indians leading 2-0, Choo led off the fifth with his second homer. One out later, Cabrera and Santana clubbed back-to-back shots to right field for their fourth and fifth homers, respectively.
