Indians 6, Cardinals 2:
Josh Tomlin allowed two runs over seven innings as visiting Cleveland won in its first visit to St. Louis since 2006.

The Indians moved to 3-1 on their nine-game road trip after taking two of three in Detroit. Tomlin, making his third start since going on the DL with right wrist soreness, improved to 3-3 by scattering eight hits.

St. Louis' Jake Westbrook (4-6) remained winless in his last six starts, allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings against his former team.

Cleveland jumped on Westbrook for three hits and two runs in the first, highlighted by Carlos Santana’s RBI double off the left-field wall.

Indians center fielder Michael Brantley singled in the fourth to extend his hitting streak to 16 games.

Johnny Damon’s two-run homer made it 6-0 in the seventh. The Cards finally got on the board on Matt Adams’ two-run single in the bottom half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis committed three errors on grounders. ... Cards prospect Joe Kelly, a hard-throwing right-hander, will be called up from Triple-A Memphis to start Sunday in place of injured lefty Jaime Garcia.
