Reds 2, Giants 1: Mat Latos allowed two hits in his second consecutive complete game to lift visiting Cincinnati past San Francisco.

Latos (7-2) carried a one-hit shutout into the ninth inning before allowing his lone run to win his seventh consecutive decision. He faced only two batters over the minimum.

Latos had retired 18 consecutive batters before Brandon Belt delivered a one-out pinch-hit triple and scored on a groundout by Gregor Blanco. He ended the game with a flourish, striking out Ryan Theriot for his third career complete game.

Miguel Cairo singled in one run for the Reds, who capitalized on three straight walks by Giants starter Barry Zito to score their first run in the fourth inning.

Zito (6-6) lasted six innings, giving up one run on five hits while walking six and striking out three.

Latos, who struck out a career-high 13 batters in his last outing against Milwaukee, fanned seven and walked one.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Latos also threw a complete game against the Giants on May 13, 2010, when he was with the San Diego Padres. ... Reds 1B Joey Votto came out of the game in the bottom of the fifth with inflammation in his left knee. He was replaced by Miguel Cairo. ... Zito came up one walk shy of matching his season high of seven against Miami on May 2. ... Brandon Crawford had San Francisco's other hit, a one-out double in the third. ... The back-to-back complete games were the first for the Reds since Aaron Harang had two straight in 2006.
