Reds 7, Rockies 2: Drew Stubbs and Jay Bruce hit home runs, and Mat Latos pitched eight strong innings to lead Cincinnati to its 10th straight win and 17th in the last 19 games.
Miguel Cairo added two RBIs for the Reds, who finished off a three-game sweep at Coors Field for their first 10-game winning streak since 1999. Cincinnati leads the National League Central by three games over Pittsburgh, which lost 9-5 at Houston on Sunday.
Latos (9-3) struck out eight and allowed just two runs and four hits for his ninth win in 10 decisions. He retired seven straight before Carlos Gonzalez's leadoff double in the sixth.
Josh Rutledge gave Colorado a 2-1 lead with a two-run homer to right-center field in the bottom of the first, but the Rockies didn't get anything else against Latos.
Colorado starter Jonathan Sanchez (0-2) continued to struggle, allowing six runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings in his home debut. Sanchez was 1-6 with a 7.76 ERA with Kansas City before being traded to the Rockies on July 20.
Stubbs gave the Reds the lead with a sacrifice fly in the third and broke it open with a two-run blast in the fifth - his 12th. Bruce belted his 20th homer two batters later, a solo shot that chased Sanchez.
The Rockies have lost 11 of their last 14 and are 20-32 at Coors Field.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Reds 2B Brandon Phillips went 2-for-3 with an RBI before leaving the game with cramping in his left calf. He is not expected to miss any time. … The Reds improved to 11-2 without 1B Joey Votto, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury. … Gonzalez extended his home hitting streak to 28 games, the second-longest in team history behind Larry Walker (30 in 2002).
