Diamondbacks 13, Astros 8: Justin Upton homered and drove in three runs, Stephen Drew had three RBIs and Aaron Hill added three hits and scored twice as Arizona prolonged struggling Houston starter Bud Norris' losing streak.

Norris (5-8) remained winless since May 21, allowing nine runs in 4 1/3 innings to lose his seventh straight start. He struck out seven and walked five.

The Diamondbacks had innings of three, four and five runs while coming within one run of their season high of 14 set June 20 against Seattle. Houston has lost 17 of 19 and has the worst record in the majors at 34-60.

The Astros, who had scored only 13 runs in their previous seven games, seemed poised to break out of their slump when they took a 2-0 lead in the first, but Arizona starter Trevor Cahill settled in and posted four scoreless innings before exiting in the sixth. Cahill (8-8) allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Upton gave the Diamondbacks the lead with a two-run shot to the opposite field in the third, clearing the bullpen in right for his eight homer of the season and the 99th of his career.

Arizona broke it open with a five-run fifth sparked by Upton's bases-loaded walk and Miguel Montero's two-run single. Montero is 5-for-7 with 14 RBIs with the bases loaded this season. Paul Goldschmidt added an RBI double and Cahill had an RBI single later in the inning.

Houston catcher Carlos Corporan had two hits and two RBIs, including his first major-league home run in the eighth, and Scott Moore hit a three-run homer in the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hill extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single in the first. … Arizona 3B Ryan Wheeler made his major-league debut and went 1-for-4 with a single in the seventh. Wheeler was hitting .351 and led the minors with 90 RBIs at Triple-A Reno. … The Astros acquired RHP Francisco Cordero and OF Ben Francisco in a 10-player trade with Toronto on Friday. Both made their Houston debuts Friday, as Francisco singled as a pinch hitter in the eighth and Cordero pitched a perfect frame in the bottom of the eighth.
