Rangers 7, Angels 3: Matt Harrison pitched 6 2/3 solid innings and Nelson Cruz hit a two-run homer as visiting Texas snapped its season-high four-game losing streak.
Harrison (7-3) put down the first 12 batters and won his third straight start for the Rangers, who have not been swept by the Angels since September 2009.
With the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh, Rangers reliever Alexi Ogando retired Albert Pujols on a fly ball to preserve a 5-3 lead.
Dan Haren (3-6) took the loss, giving up two runs on seven hits over five innings.
The Rangers jumped on top in the third when Elvis Andrus doubled over right-fielder Mark Trumbo’s head, scoring Mike Napoli. In the fifth, Michael Young singled off Pujols’ glove to score Ian Kinsler and make it 2-0.
Erick Aybar’s fifth-inning RBI double cut the deficit in half. With Texas up 3-2 in the seventh, Cruz belted his eighth homer to make it 5-2.
