Angels 3, Dodgers 2: Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 – including a two-out RBI single to break a 2-2 tie in the ninth inning – to lead the Angels to their 10th straight road victory.

Rookie Mike Trout also went 2-for-4 with a homer and RBI single and Jason Isringhausen (2-0) recorded the final out of the eighth inning for the Angels, who have won 10 of the last 13 meetings with the Dodgers and moved to within 2½ games of Texas in the American League West.

Trout walked and stole second in the ninth against Kenley Jansen (4-1) before scoring on Pujols’ soft liner to short left-center field after the Dodgers elected to pitch to the three-time National League MVP with first base open. Trout is 21-for-41 in June.

The Angels’ Ernesto Frieri walked A.J. Ellis with one out and hit pinch hitter Juan Uribe with two outs in the ninth before earning his fifth save in five chances.

The Dodgers’ Chris Capuano allowed two runs, eight hits and walked four in five-plus innings. He got out of bases loaded situations in the first and third innings.

The Angels’ Garrett Richards allowed two runs (one earned), five hits and walked five in five innings.

The Dodgers scored twice in the first. Andre Ethier’s RBI groundout drove in Dee Gordon, who walked to lead off the inning and advanced to third on Elian Herrera’s ground-rule double. Herrera came around to score on a double error after Richards’ pick-off attempt sailed past second base and center fielder Trout overran the errant throw.

Trout’s home run in the fourth inning came one pitch after Capuano picked off Richards, who reached first on a fielder’s choice. Trout’s run-scoring single came in the sixth off reliever Josh Lindblom.
