Mariners 6, Orioles 2:
Joe Saunders allowed two runs and four hits in a complete-game effort and improved to 6-0 against Baltimore as host Seattle won the opener of the three-game series.

Former Orioles infielder Robert Andino delivered the tiebreaking single in the fourth inning and Kyle Seager’s run-scoring triple capped a three-run sixth as the Mariners won for the fourth time in five games.

Saunders (2-3) walked just one in the eighth complete game of his career. Matt Wieters’ two-run homer to left in the fourth was the only blemish.

Jason Bay tied the score with a double in the fourth and Andino followed with the go-ahead hit. Seattle's sixth-inning outburst included Brendan Ryan’s run-scoring single and Michael Saunders’ fielder’s choice before Seager’s triple down the right-field line.

Saunders led off the game with a homer against Zach Britton (0-1), who allowed six runs and 10 hits in six innings in his first major-league outing of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bay had three of Seattle’s 11 hits. … Baltimore acquired C Chris Snyder from the Los Angeles Angels to be the backup with Taylor Teagarden (dislocated left thumb) placed on the disabled list. The Orioles sent minor league RHP Rob Delaney to the Angels. … Saunders (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list prior to the game and OF Carlos Peguero was sent down to Triple-A Tacoma.
