Angels 3, White Sox 2: Mike Trout slugged a two-run homer and visiting Los Angeles matched a season high with its third straight victory.

Jerome Williams (2-1) allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up his first win as a starter since June 1, 2012. Albert Pujols and Alberto Callaspo singled and scored for the Angels, who will seek their second series sweep Sunday night.

Jose Quintana (2-1) suffered the loss after giving up three runs (two earned) in six innings. He allowed a single to Callaspo to begin the game and Trout followed with his sixth blast to make it 2-0.

Chicago loaded the bases in the second on three base hits before Tyler Greene and Alejandro De Aza singled in a run apiece to tie it, but right fielder Josh Hamilton threw out Jeff Keppinger at home trying to score on De Aza's hit to end the rally.

Pujols singled with one out in the third, moved to third on an error and scored on a passed ball to make it 3-2. Ernesto Frieri capped another scoreless effort from the Los Angeles bullpen to record his third save in as many days.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dayan Viciedo was 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for the White Sox, who have lost four straight home games. ... Los Angeles' bullpen has thrown 14 1/3 scoreless innings over the last five games. ... The Angels selected the contract of RHP Robert Coello from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned OF Scott Cousins.
