Giants 7, Diamondbacks 3: Brandon Belt knocked his fifth home run and Tim Hudson worked eight strong innings as San Francisco cruised past visiting Arizona in its home opener.

Brandon Crawford and Michael Morse each drove in two runs and Angel Pagan scored a pair and had two hits for the Giants, who improved to 6-2. Hudson (2-0) was charged with three runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out four.

Martin Prado recorded three hits and Miguel Montero had a sacrifice fly for the Diamondbacks, who missed a chance to earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Arizona starter Trevor Cahill (0-3) was knocked around for five runs on eight hits and a walk in 3 2/3 innings.

Cahill walked Pagan leading off the first and Belt followed by slamming a 2-1 sinker into the seats in right-center for a quick 2-0 lead. The Diamondbacks got a run back in the next half-inning but San Francisco rallied again in the third, pushing across a run on Buster Posey’s RBI single to center and two more when Morse’s single to right plated Belt and Hunter Pence.

Ryan Rowland-Smith got the first two outs of the fifth for the Diamondbacks before walking Pence and allowing a ground-rule double to Morse in front of Crawford’s two-run single. Tony Campana tripled leading off the eighth and scored on Gerardo Parra’s groundout to add Arizona’s third run.
