Mets 7, Diamondbacks 3: Lucas Duda went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and visiting New York took the opener of the three-game series against Arizona.

Daniel Murphy and Eric Young Jr. each contributed two hits and two runs scored in support of right-hander Zack Wheeler (1-2), who threw 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and six hits en route to earning his first win in his last six starts. David Wright drove in two runs for his first multi-RBI game since the season opener and Curtis Granderson drove in another for New York.

Miguel Montero went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Paul Goldschmidt contributed two hits and two runs scored for the Diamondbacks, who have lost four straight. Josh Collmenter (0-1) came out of the bullpen to make his first start since 2011 and needed 73 pitches to get through four innings, allowing three runs and five hits

Mike Bolsinger made his major-league debut in relief of Collmenter and struck out the first batter he faced, but then gave up a single, a walk and two RBI singles by Granderson and Duda to stretch the lead to 5-2. The Mets added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth after a walk and a throwing error off a sacrifice attempt, putting runners on second and third before Murphy drove in one with a sacrifice fly and Wright the other with a single to right.

Wheeler allowed a two-out RBI double to Montero in the first and a sacrifice fly by Montero in the third. He retired the side in the second and fourth innings before needing relief in the seventh after surrendering a one-out double, followed by a walk, but Carlos Torres came on to retire the next two batters and avoid any damage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Granderson stayed in the game after running into the wall on Montero's double in the first but later departed to undergo X-rays on his left wrist, which came back negative, and Mets LF Juan Lagares also left early after an apparent right hamstring injury. ... The Mets entered the game with the lowest batting average in the NL (.207) and the Diamondbacks with the highest ERA in the majors (5.95). … The Diamondbacks announced before the game that RHP Trevor Cahill was moved to the bullpen after losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday to fall to 0-4 with a 9.17 ERA, and Bolsinger will likely take his spot in the rotation.
