Nolan Arenado homered for the fourth consecutive game, Jon Gray struck out 12 in seven innings and the Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 11-3 on Friday night in Denver.

Arenado finished with three hits and remained hot to help the Rockies get some traction at Coors Field. After going hitless in the first game of the current seven-game homestand, Arenado is 10-for-17 with four home runs and 11 RBIs over the past four games.

Tom Murphy had three hits and two RBIs for Colorado, which has won a season-high four in a row at home.

Derek Dietrich homered among his three hits and J.T. Realmuto also had three hits for the Marlins, who have lost three in a row.

The Rockies took control of the game with a six-run fourth inning off of Miami starter Wei-Yin Chen (2-4), highlighted by Arenado's team-leading 17th home run.

Ian Desmond started the rally with a single and scored on a throwing error by Miami second baseman Starlin Castro after a one-out double by Carlos Gonzalez, breaking a 1-1 tie. Noel Cuevas singled to put runners at the corners, and Gray reached on a sacrifice bunt that allowed Gonzalez to score.

Cuevas scored on a sacrifice fly by DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon's single drove in Gray and Arenado followed with a home run to left to make it 7-1.

Gerardo Parra hit a three-run double in the seventh before the Marlins scored twice against Yency Almonte in the eighth to make it 10-3.

That was more than enough for Gray (7-7), who tied a season high with his 12 strikeouts. He allowed eight hits and no walks.

Gray came into the game with a 6.45 ERA at Coors Field but turned in his best outing at the ballpark since tossing seven scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Angels on May 8.

Colorado got on the board first when Desmond led off the second with a single and Murphy followed with a double to left.

Dietrich tied it in the third with his ninth home run.
