Yoan Moncada homered, scored twice and drove in two runs, Carlos Rodon pitched six strong innings, and the Chicago White Sox topped the host Detroit Tigers 7-3 on Friday.
Moncada hit his sixth homer this season, a solo shot in the first inning. Leury Garcia and Jose Abreu also drove in two runs apiece, while Ryan Cordell scored twice.
Rodon (3-2) held the Tigers to one run on three hits, walking three and striking struck out six.
White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson and manager Rick Renteria served one-game league suspensions for their conduct during a benches-clearing incident against Kansas City on Wednesday.
Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire was ejected in the top of the fifth Friday for arguing balls and strikes.
Josh Harrison, Grayson Greiner and Niko Goodrum hit solo homers for the Tigers, who have lost six of their last seven games. Starter Jordan Zimmermann (0-3) allowed five runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked four.
Chicago took the lead two batters into the game, when Moncada crushed a 458-foot homer to center on a hanging slider.
Harrison tied the score with two outs in the third on a 417-foot blast to left-center.
Rodon walked two batters in the fourth but got out of the jam by striking out Gordon Beckham.
The White Sox took the lead in the fifth. They loaded the bases on two singles sandwiching a walk. Zimmermann struck out Garcia for the second out of the inning but walked Moncada on a close 3-1 pitch. Home plate umpire Todd Tichenor gave Gardenhire a quick hook after the Tigers manager yelled at him from the dugout.
A five-run White Sox seventh broke the game open. A walk and single got the big inning started. One out later, Garcia singled to right to drive in two runs. Zimmermann was replaced by Daniel Stumpf but Chicago kept scoring. Moncada advanced Garcia with a single and both scored on Abreu's double to left.
Yonder Alonso's RBI single knocked in Abreu to make it 7-1.
Greiner drilled a solo homer with two out in the bottom of the inning.
Goodrum homered off Alex Colome to lead off the ninth.
