Yoshi Tsutsugo's pinch-hit, two-run homer highlighted an eight-run seventh inning Thursday as the Pittsburgh Pirates erased a six-run deficit to beat the visiting St. Louis Cardinals 11-7.
Colin Moran added a two-run homer, Gregory Polanco hit a two-run double, and Bryan Reynolds and Wilmer Difo each had a two-run single for the Pirates, who have won five of seven.
Pittsburgh starter Mitch Keller gave up seven runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Chad Kuhl (4-6) pitched a scoreless seventh for the win.
Nolan Arenado and Edmundo Sosa hit two-run homers, Tommy Edman a two-run double and Paul Goldschmidt added an RBI single for St. Louis, which had won six in a row this year in Pittsburgh and 10 straight games at PNC Park overall.
St. Louis starter Miles Mikolas pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and eight hits.
Genesis Cabrera (2-5) allowed six runs on six hits without recording an out in the seventh.
Edman walked to open the game. Two flyouts later, Arenado belted his 26th homer off the foul pole in left for a 2-0 Cardinals lead.
St. Louis tacked on three more in the second. Lars Nootbaar walked, Sosa singled and they later scored on Edman's double. Goldschmidt's base hit brought Edman home to make it 5-0.
In the bottom of the second, Difo reached on an infield single, went to third on Polanco's double and scored on Kevin Newman's groundout to cut it to 5-1.
St. Louis' Yadier Molina singled with one out in the third. An out later, Sosa launched his fourth homer, to right-center, to boost the Cardinals' lead to 7-1.
Pittsburgh whittled it to 7-3 in the bottom of the third. Michael Chavis singled in front of Moran's seventh homer, to right.
In the seventh, Ke'Bryan Hayes doubled and Ben Gamel walked, chasing Andrew Miller for Cabrera. Chavis singled to load the bases, and Reynolds' broken-bat single drove in two. Moran's single loaded the bases again, and Difo followed with a two-run single to tie it.
Polanco's double put Pittsburgh up 9-7, and Tsutsugo's fourth homer of the year, to right-center, made it 11-7 before there was an out.
