Trea Turner had three hits, including a grand slam, to lift the host Philadelphia Phillies to a 10-1 drubbing of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series.
Brandon Marsh added a solo home run among his two hits, Bryson Stott also hit a solo shot and Kyle Schwarber returned from the injured list to smack a two-run single.
Rafael Marchan contributed three hits and an RBI and Johan Rojas had two hits and an RBI for Philadelphia.
Phillies starter Zack Wheeler (10-4) allowed three hits and one run in five innings. He walked two and struck out seven. Philadelphia announced Wheeler left the game with lower back tightness.
Cavan Biggio hit a solo home run and Austin Barnes and Will Smith each had two hits for the Dodgers.
Los Angeles starter Bobby Miller (1-2) lasted only four innings and gave up 10 hits and nine runs. He issued three walks and fanned two. Third baseman Enrique Hernandez was used as a reliever and recorded four outs after the game was out of reach.
The Dodgers had runners at first and second with no outs in the seventh inning but couldn't capitalize. Smith and Hernandez both struck out, and Chris Taylor walked to load the bases. James Outman then struck out to end the inning.
Marsh hit his solo homer in the home half of the seventh to close the scoring.
The Phillies went ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning when Marchan hit an RBI single to right field and Schwarber added his two-run single. Schwarber was thrown out at second trying to stretch the hit into a double.
Shohei Ohtani singled with one out in the top of the third. Smith struck out looking before Ohtani stole second, and Freddie Freeman struck out swinging to strand Ohtani.
In the fourth, Rojas had an RBI single. After Schwarber walked to load the bases, Turner blasted his grand slam to left for an 8-0 advantage. It was Turner's sixth career grand slam. Stott went deep later in the frame for a 9-0 lead.
The Dodgers closed within 9-1 when Biggio ripped his solo homer in the fifth.
