Francisco Lindor hit a tiebreaking, two-run single in the ninth inning, Jesse Winker added a two-out RBI hit, and the New York Mets beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 in Denver on Wednesday night.

Lindor and Francisco Alvarez had two hits each, while Winker singled three times for New York.

Jose Butto (5-3) earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

The score was tied 2-2 when Alvarez tripled off the scoreboard in right field with one out in the ninth. Harrison Bader entered as a pinch runner before Victor Vodnik (3-2) walked Ben Gamel and Tyrone Taylor to load the bases with one out.

Lindor singled to left to make it 4-2, and Winker's two-out single two batters later added an insurance run.

Michael Toglia tripled against closer Edwin Diaz to begin the bottom of the ninth and later scored on Jake Cave's groundout. Diaz struck out two in the inning to secure his 14th save.

Cave and Kris Bryant tallied two hits each for the Rockies, while Ezequiel Tovar hit a solo home run in the first inning.

Colorado starter Ryan Feltner went to the Rockies' clubhouse after allowing a run in the first inning and never returned.

Rockies manager Bud Black said after the game that Feltner is dealing with lat, back and shoulder tightness, which could send the right-hander to the injured list.

It marked the second straight game that Colorado's starting pitcher left due to a health issue. Kyle Freeland was pulled in the fifth inning on Tuesday night with a blister.

Noah Davis allowed one run over four innings in relief of Feltner.

The Mets scored first when Lindor led off the game with a single, stole second and scored on Pete Alonso's single to left.

Tovar tied it in the bottom of the first when his 19th home run of the season bounced off the top of the center field wall and over.

New York answered in the second with three singles off of Davis to go ahead 2-1 before Colorado countered in the fourth.

Brendan Rodgers led off with a double, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Bryant's infield single.

That was all the Rockies managed against Mets starter Paul Blackburn, who allowed the one earned run on five hits and two walks. He fanned six in six innings.
