Joe Ingles capped an 18-point performance with four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter Saturday night, helping the Utah Jazz pull away from the Dallas Mavericks for a 125-109 victory in Salt Lake City.
In a game that paired two teams that had played the night before and traveled to Utah for Saturday's contest, the Jazz used a 29-14 edge in free throw points to win their third straight at home.
Utah was coming off a double-overtime loss at Oklahoma City on Friday while the Mavericks fell at home to Denver.
After leading by as many as 15 points in the third quarter, the Jazz found themselves clinging to just an 86-83 lead early in the fourth quarter before Ingles got things headed in a positive direction with a 3-pointer.
His second three of the period reopened a double-digit lead at 96-86 with 8:43 to go, before his last two long-range daggers helped the Jazz keep the Mavericks at arm's length.
Dallas was playing a second consecutive game without rookie standout Luka Doncic, out with a sore right ankle.
Ricky Rubio and Donovan Mitchell had 25 points apiece to lead the Jazz, who won for the 13th time in their last 18 games.
Jae Crowder contributed 22 points and Rudy Gobert 15 for Utah.
Gobert completed a double-double with 12 rebounds, one more than teammate Derrick Favors, who also had six points.
Ingles found time for six assists to complement his 18 points. He shot 5-for-9 on 3-pointers.
Tim Hardaway Jr. totaled 21 points and Trey Burke 20 for the Mavericks, who lost their fourth straight.
Dirk Nowitzki hit three 3-pointers on a 15-point night for Dallas, while Justin Jackson (13 points), Jalen Brunson (13) and Dwight Powell (12) also scored in double figures.
Utah led almost all the way, going up by as many as eight in the first quarter, 11 in the second and 15 in the third.
The margin was 11 late in the third period before Nowitzki led a Dallas rally that got the visitors within 86-83 early in the fourth quarter. The veteran contributed eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to Dallas' 11-3 burst that bridged the two periods.
