No. 21 Missouri won for the third time in four games Tuesday night, using a second-half surge to pull past Texas Tech at home 92-84.

Marcus Denmon scored 20 points for the Tigers (20-6, 6-5 Big 12), who improved to 16-0 at Mizzou Arena this season. John Roberson’s 21 points paced Texas Tech (11-15, 3-8 Big 12), which lost its fourth straight game.

The Tigers took control of a back-and-forth affair in the second half. Trailing 58-57 early in the half, Ricky Kreklow’s layup gave the Tigers a 59-58 advantage and started a 19-6 run. Five different Tigers scored during the surge. Kreklow, Michael Dixon, Kim English and Matt Pressey each scored four points, and Missouri went ahead 77-64 on two English free throws with 9:31 left.

The Red Raiders pulled within 87-84 on Roberson’s 3-pointer with 1:18 left, but Laurence Bowers’ layup with 56 seconds to play gave the Tigers an 89-84 advantage.

The teams traded big runs throughout the first half. Missouri took a 25-16 lead with 10:54 left in the half on Kreklow’s 3-pointer. Brad Reese’s three-point play with 5:28 to go capped a 22-7 surge as the Red Raiders rallied to go ahead 38-32. But Missouri scored 13 of the next 14 points and led 45-44 at halftime.

Missouri entered sixth in the nation in scoring offense at 83.5 points. The Tigers topped 90 points for the first time since a 98-58 victory Jan. 5 over North Alabama.
