Glen Rice Jr. had 21 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as host Georgia Tech won its third straight game with another stifling defensive effort, 65-54 over visiting Alabama A&M on Monday.
Point guard Mfon Udofia added 16 points for the Yellow Jackets (7-4), who entered the game ranked 12th nationally in field goal percentage defense (36.1) and held the Bulldogs to 35 percent shooting.
Jeremy Ingram led Alabama A&M (2-5) with 14 points off the bench. It was the Bulldogs' fourth straight loss.
Georgia Tech led 25-21 at the half despite committing 11 turnovers. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-0 all-time against Alabama A&M and 13-1 against SWAC opponents.
Freshman forward Julian Royal tied his season high with 10 points off the bench for Georgia Tech.
