Anthony Marshall had 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds as No. 20 Nevada-Las Vegas downed host Hawaii 74-69 on Saturday.
Mike Moser added 15 points and 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season for the Rebels (15-2), who have won six straight.
Both teams were coming off 100-point performances, but fell well short of that mark in this contest in large part because of some spotty 3-point shooting as they combined to go 7-of-35 behind the arc.
UNLV led for the final 34:32, but the Rebels were unable to extend the advantage past 10 points as they shot a season-worst 22.2 percent from the 3-point line.
Hawaii (8-6) pulled to within 58-56 on consecutive baskets by Joston Thomas, but UNLV answered with an 8-2 run that allowed the Rebels to maintain at least a three-point margin for the remainder of the game.
Vander Joaquim scored eight of his team's final 10 points to keep the Warriors in the game until the end.
Thomas finished with 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds – including seven on the offensive end – for Hawaii, which fell to 7-3 at home.
