Josh Smith scored six straight points in a pivotal 8-0 run late in the game to lift UCLA to a 63-60 win over host Washington State Saturday night.

Smith led the Bruins, which have won 19 straight games at Washington State, with 19 points. He also grabbed five rebounds and had two huge blocked shots in the second half.

Lazeric Jones and David Wear both had 15 for UCLA (13-10, 6-5 Pac-12), which won just its second road game of the season.

Brock Motum led all scorers with 25 points for the Cougars but he had 19 by the intermission as the Cougars led 34-29. UCLA’s Josh Smith had 11 at the break hitting all five of his shots from the field.

The Bruins played without forward Travis Wear who suffered a high ankle sprain in Thursday’s loss at Washington.

The Bruins beaten the Cougars (12-11, 4-7) 37 of the last 39 times they’ve met.
