WAKE FOREST 59, GEORGIA TECH 50: Travis McKie had 23 points and 11 rebounds as the host Demon Deacons snapped a six-game losing streak.
McKie scored seven straight points late in the second half, turning a one-point deficit into a 47-41 Wake Forest lead.
The Demon Deacons (12-14, 3-9 ACC) got out of the ACC basement, moving a half-game ahead of the Yellow Jackets (9-16, 2-9).
Georgia Tech could not solve Wake Forest’s zone, shooting 37.3 percent. The Yellow Jackets have dropped nine of their last 10 games.
C.J. Harris’ step-back jumper at the first-half buzzer put Wake Forest up 24-17.
The Demon Deacons avenged last season’s sweep by the Yellow Jackets, who won those two games by a combined 61 points.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgia Tech point guard Mfon Udofia snapped an 0-for-16 shooting skid with an early 3-pointer. … McKie went 2 of 2 from beyond the arc and has made 27 3-pointers, 10 more than he hit last season. … Georgia Tech’s 17 first-half points were the fewest by any Wake Forest opponent this season.
