MARQUETTE 82, RUTGERS 65: Jae Crowder scored 27 points as the No. 10 Golden Eagles won for the 11th time in their last 12 games and remained in a second-place tie in the Big East.

Marquette (23-5, 12-3 Big East) saw its 11-point halftime lead cut to six before scoring eight unanswered points to build a 66-52 cushion with 9:35 remaining. Crowder, who scored 14 points in the second half, hit a pair of baskets during the spurt.

Rutgers (12-16, 4-11) hurt its cause by committing 24 turnovers, which host Marquette converted into 30 points. The Golden Eagles also finished with a big edge at the free throw line, hitting 17 of 24 while the Scarlet Knights were 3 for 3.

Crowder hit 11 of 14 shots from the field and added seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocked shots, while Darius Johnson-Odom contributed 21 points for Marquette.

Jerome Seagears scored 14 points to lead Rutgers.
