Eugene Phelps had 13 points and eight rebounds as Long Beach State went on a huge second-half run and rolled to a 64-43 victory over Auburn on Friday in the semifinals of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.

The 49ers (7-5), who defeated Xavier 58-58 in the first round, will meet Kansas State in Sunday's final. The Wildcats upended Texas-El Paso 78-70 in Friday's other semifinal.

Larry Anderson scored 16 points and Casper Ware added 13 as Long Beach State turned an eight-point game into a rout with a 16-0 run in the second half.

Frankie Sullivan matched a season high with 22 points but no other player scored more than seven points for Auburn (8-2), which shot 26.3 percent from the field. Sullivan was 8-for-16 from the floor while the rest of the Tigers went 7-for-41 en route to their season low in points.

Auburn closed to within 46-38 with 12:08 left on Sullivan's 3-pointer but didn't score again for 9:05.

Phelps scored eight straight team points in the first half when Long Beach State shot 50 percent from the field and led 32-22 at halftime.

Sullivan scored 14 points and made five of Auburn's six first-half field goals.

Auburn defeated Hawaii 65-62 in the first round and will meet UTEP in Sunday's third-place game.
