Marquette 79, Maryland-Baltimore County 46: Jamil Wilson scored 15 points as the host Golden Eagles crushed the Retrievers.

Wilson was 7-for-8 from the floor and tied a team high with six rebounds. Davante Gardner added 13 points and five steals for Marquette (5-1), which next plays at No. 7 Florida on Thursday in the SEC/Big East Challenge.

Chase Plummer led Maryland-Baltimore County (1-4) with 12 points. Ryan Cook added nine but had five of the Retrievers' 18 turnovers.

Wilson scored six points during an 8-2 burst that helped Marquette carry a 28-24 lead into the locker room, but a Brett Roseboro basket just over three minutes into the second half gave UMBC a surprising 31-30 lead.

Wilson helped the hosts retaliate by scoring five points in a 17-2 run that left the Golden Eagles with a 47-33 lead with 12:01 left. After a three-point play by Cook, Marquette scored 20 straight points to turn it into a rout.
