Oklahoma State 69, UT-Arlington 44: Markel Brown finished with 17 points and five steals as the Cowboys placed four players in double figures to knock off the visiting Mavericks.
Marcus Smart had 10 points and snagged five steals for Oklahoma State (9-1), which forced 30 UT-Arlington turnovers. The Cowboys jumped out to a 13-3 start and were never threatened.
Freshman guard Phil Forte added 13 points for Oklahoma State while leading scorer Le'Bryan Nash chipped in 10 to extend the Cowboys’ winning streak to four games. Center Philip Jurick grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and knocked down all three of his field-goal attempts.
It was a sloppy performance for the Mavericks (5-3), who had more turnovers than points in the first half. UT-Arlington's 20 first-half turnovers was the highest halftime total for an Oklahoma State opponent since Prairie View A&M gave up the ball 22 times in November of 2007.
Jamel Outler led the Mavericks, who trailed 36-17 at halftime, with 14 points.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma State improved to 11-1 all-time against the Mavericks. ... UT-Arlington fell to 5-65 all-time against Big 12 opponents. ... The Mavericks shot 39.1 percent from the field - a shade better than the combined 35.3 percent Cowboys’ opponents made over the first nine games.
