Oklahoma 87, No. 7 Iowa State 82: Buddy Hield nailed six 3-pointers and scored 22 points and Ryan Spangler notched his sixth double-double of the season as the Sooners handed the visiting Cyclones their first loss in a Big 12 game.

Spangler, a Gonzaga transfer, had 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and Isaiah Cousins hit three-3 pointers and scored 17 points for the Sooners (13-3, 2-1 Big 12). Cameron Clark added 12 points and six rebounds and Jordan Woodard had a game-high five assists to go with seven points.

DeAndre Kane recorded 23 points and nine rebounds and Melvin Ejim had 21 points and six rebounds for the Cyclones (14-1, 2-1), who saw their school-record win streak snapped. Georges Niang chipped in with 14 points and six boards and Dustin Hogue supplied 13 points.

Oklahoma was the better team for most of the first half and used 3-pointers from Hield, Je'lon Hornbeak and Frank Booker to lead by nine less than seven minutes in. A 9-2 run for the Cyclones closed the gap to two points, but eight points from Clark and another triple from Hield made it 35-27 before Iowa State closed with an 8-0 run to knot the score at 39 at intermission.

The Sooners rained 3-pointers down upon the Cyclones in the first six minutes of the second half as Hield made three and Cousins two to give Oklahoma its biggest lead at 59-46. Heild's sixth trey of the game put the Sooners up 10 with 10 minutes left, but the Cyclones slowly chipped away and eventually took its first lead since 2-0 at 77-76 before Spangler had a three-point play, Hield made a layup and the Sooners hit six free throws to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cyclones shot 51.6 percent but struggled from beyond the arc (3-of-13) in the first half. ... The Sooners held a 41-34 edge in rebounding and forced 13 turnovers. ... Oklahoma finished 13-of-30 from 3-point range and made 18-of-21 free throws.
