Alabama started fast, making 8-of-13 from the field, including a dunk by Jimmie Taylor that handed the Crimson Tide a 18-9 lead with 5 1/2 minutes gone in the first half. The Bulls closed to within five on a pair of jumpers by Perry and again on a 3-pointer by Morillo, but five straight points by Michael Kessens sent Alabama to its largest lead at 43-28 before it settled for a 43-32 halftime advantage.

The Bulls tried to cut into the lead in the second half and twice got it to eight points, but Alabama quickly reasserted itself as Randolph and Riley Norris made back-to-back 3-pointers and Kessens hit a layup to make it 64-45 with 9:09 left. The Bulls came up with one last run, slicing the lead to eight on a free throw and layup by Allen following a flagrant foul on Kessens, but it wasn't enough.
