USC 70, Washington 55: Nikola Jovanovic recorded 16 points and seven rebounds as the host Trojans knocked off the Huskies in Pac-12 play.

Elijah Stewart added 14 points and nine boards as USC (11-18, 3-14) won for only the second time in 14 games. Julian Jacobs contributed eight points, 10 rebounds and nine assists while Katin Reinhardt scored 11 points on 3-of-13 shooting for the Trojans.

Andrew Andrews scored 19 points, Quevyn Winters posted season highs of 16 points and four 3-pointers and Mike Anderson notched 10 points and collected a season-best 15 rebounds for the Huskies (15-13, 4-12). Standout point guard Nigel Williams-Goss sat out with an ankle injury as Washington lost for the ninth time in 10 contests.

The Huskies trailed by 15 in the second half before cutting the deficit to 49-40 on Andrews’ 3-pointer with 11:43 left. But Washington scored just three points over the next four-plus minutes as the Trojans pushed the lead back to 15, and a layup by Jacobs gave USC a 64-46 advantage with 5:42 remaining.

The Trojans jumped out to a 14-2 lead over the first six-plus minutes before Washington battled back to tie it at 19 when Andrews hit 2-of-3 free throws with 5:33 left in the half. USC closed strong by scoring the final six points of opening period for a 27-22 lead and began the second with a 15-5 burst, moving ahead by 15 on Malik Marquetti’s layup.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Huskies shot 29.7 percent from the field and 9-of-28 from 3-point range. … USC was 10-for-22 from the free-throw line. … Winters scored in double digits for just the third time this season.
