Memphis raced out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back Tuesday night as the Tigers throttled IUPUI 84-48 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.

IUPUI (4-10) missed their first nine shots and committed a pair of turnovers before guard Nick Osborne Jr. finally put the Jaguars on board at the 14:25 mark of the first half.

By then, the Tigers were on a roll, and when guard K.J. Lawson sank a jumper with just over four minutes remaining in the first half, Memphis (8-3) had a 30-13 lead.

Memphis was averaging just under 79 points per game coming into the game, and the Tigers surpassed that mark with 4:27 left when guard Avery Woodson nailed a 3-point jumper.

Woodson led the Tigers with 16 points, and K.J. Lawson added 15. Freshman forward phenom Dedric Lawson grabbed nine rebounds, and forward Shaq Goodwin pulled down eight boards for one of the nation's top rebounding teams.

Guard Darell Combs paced the Jaguars' attack with 15 points.

The Jaguars trailed 39-17 at halftime, and the deficit snowballed once play resumed.

IUPUI's lone points in the first 4:37 of the second half were scored on a layup by forward Matt O'Leary.

Meanwhile, Memphis kept the pedal to the metal and didn't let up. By the time Dedric Lawson made one of two free throws with 8:32 left, the Tigers were up 67-30.

The Tigers held the Jaguars to 25 percent shooting from the field (17-for-68). Memphis hit 38.4 percent of its field-goal attempts (28-for-73).
