Virginia Tech guard Seth Allen scored 23 points, including a big 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation, helping the Hokies rally past visiting North Carolina State 73-68 in overtime Saturday at Cassell Coliseum.
Virginia Tech guard Jalen Hudson also scored 23 points, 19 coming in the second half to fuel the Hokies' comeback.
North Carolina State led 34-24 at halftime, behind 11 points from forward Caleb Martin. The Wolfpack extended the lead to 43-29 on a 3-pointer from Martin four minutes into the second half, before Virginia Tech rallied.
With nine minutes to play, Hudson connected on a 3-pointer and was fouled, trimming the North Carolina State lead to 48-45 on the four-point play. The Hokies (8-5) took the lead, 52-51, on a dunk by Allen with 4:20 to play.
Allen hit a 3-pointer from the wing that tied the score 61-61 with 17 seconds left. On the final possession of regulation, North Carolina State guard Anthony Barber drove into the paint was denied at the rim, sending the game into overtime
Barber finished with 21 points for the Wolfpack (10-4), who had their six-game winning streak snapped.
