Sophomore guard Shembari Phillips scored 14 points and orchestrated a balanced Tennessee attack, leading the Volunteers to an 81-58 blowout win over visiting Georgia Tech on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn.

With starting point guard Jordan Bone recovering from a stress fracture, Phillips handed out a career-high seven assists.

Freshman forward Grant Williams also had 14 points, and freshman forward John Fulkerson finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the Vols (3-3), who never trailed and improved to 2-1 at home this season.

Georgia Tech junior center Ben Lammers had a double-double, with 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, who have yet to win on the road this season under new coach Josh Pastner. Senior forward Quinton Stephens added 15 points for Georgia Tech.

The Jackets (4-3) never found their shooting touch Saturday and were held to 32.7 percent from the floor. Tennessee, on the other hand, shot 52.8 percent from the floor.

Tennessee jumped on the Yellow Jackets early, taking a 22-12 lead on a jumper by Robert Hubbs III with seven minutes left in the first half.

The Vols added to their lead with an 8-0 run and Lamonte Turner hit a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left in the first half, sending Tennessee into the intermission with a 42-25 lead.

Hubbs finished with 10 points, the fourth Volunteer to reach double figures Saturday.

The Volunteers have a difficult upcoming two-week stretch, featuring games against No. 3 North Carolina and No. 8 Gonzaga, before opening SEC play at Texas A&M on Dec. 29.

Georgia Tech travels to Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday and also has game against Georgia, before opening ACC play against North Carolina on Dec. 31.
