Center Ben Lammers scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half to help Georgia Tech turn away pesky Wofford 76-72 Thursday at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.

The junior was 9 for 12 from the field, including an emphatic slam dunk with 1:29 left that gave the Yellow Jackets a four-point lead. Lammers also had seven rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots.

Georgia Tech (7-4) didn't put the game away until guard Josh Heath made a pair of free throws with five seconds remaining to restore a four-point lead. Heath missed two free throws with 43 seconds that kept the Terriers' hopes alive.

Wofford (5-8) got 23 points and six assists from Eric Garcia, who was 6 for 9 on 3-pointers. Nathan Hoover added 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Fletcher Magee scored 12 and Cameron Jackson had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets had four other players in double figures as Tadric Jackson scored 14 points, Justin Moore and Heath with 12 each, and Josh Okogie had 10. Jackson scored all of his points in the first half.

The Terriers took the game to Georgia Tech in the first half and had a 21-15 lead with 9:14 remaining. That's when Jackson took over and scored 11 points on a 14-2 run which saw the Yellow Jackets take a 29-23 lead.
