Junior forward Justin Gray paced a balanced attack and Texas Tech used a second-half run to pull away from Incarnate Word for a 69-48 win on Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

Gray finished with 14 points and junior guard Shadell Millinghaus came off the bench to score 14 for the Red Raiders. Zach Smith had 13 points, six rebounds and four blocks for Texas Tech.

Sophomore forward Simi Socks and freshman guard Jorden Kite each had 12 points for Incarnate Word.

Texas Tech outrebounded incarnate Word 36-26 and forced 22 turnovers. Incarnate Word shot just 36.7 percent from the floor.

The Red Raiders bolted out to a 29-11 lead on a Smith dunk with five minutes left in the first half. But the Cardinals closed the first half with 11-2 run to stay somewhat in the game.

Texas Tech led 38-25 at halftime. Millinghaus had 11 in the first half to lead the Red Raiders.

Incarnate Word put a scare in Texas in the season opener before falling 78-73 to the Longhorns in Austin. The Cardinals tried to do the same against the Red Raiders and opened the second half with a 5-0 spurt that trimmed Texas Tech's lead to single digits.

But the Red Raiders ran off 10 straight points midway through the second half to pull away from the Cardinals, who went six minutes without scoring and never recovered.

Texas Tech has now won three straight and heads into a December full of tuneups before Big 12 play. Incarnate Word has dropped two straight games.
