Breein Tyree scored 20 points and the Ole Miss defense stymied Auburn for the second time this season in the visiting Rebels' 60-55 SEC victory Wednesday night in Auburn, Ala.
Devontae Shuler added 17 points as the Rebels improved to 17-7 and 7-4.
Chuma Okeke had 23 points and 11 rebounds and Jared Harper added 10 points for the Tigers (16-8, 5-6).
Auburn's point total and 32.7 shooting percentage were its lowest of the season, falling short of the previous worsts in an 83-67 loss to Ole Miss on Jan. 9 in Oxford, Miss., when Auburn was ranked No. 10 in the nation.
On Wednesday, the Rebels made eight more 3-pointers (13-5) than the Tigers, though Auburn mitigated that disadvantage somewhat by outscoring Ole Miss 18-9 on free throws.
Terence Davis' 3-pointer started the second-half scoring and extended Ole Miss' six-point halftime lead to nine.
Harper's three free throws helped Auburn get within 33-29 before Shuler and Tyree each made 3-pointers.
Okeke scored eight straight points before Zach Naylor ended a nearly four-minute scoring drought for the Rebels by making a 3-pointer, and he followed that with a layup for a 44-37 lead.
The margin stayed between seven and four points for more than six minutes before Horace Spencer's free throw pulled the Tigers within 48-45.
Auburn closed within three again before Davis' 3-pointer and Shuler's two free throws gave Ole Miss a 56-48 lead with 3:42 remaining.
Okeke's four points helped the Tigers get within three points again with 1:54 left. They got the ball back on a turnover, but missed two shots.
After an exchange of scoreless possessions, Tyree made two free throws for a five-point lead with 12 seconds left.
Tyree made two 3-pointers during an 8-0 run that gave Ole Miss an early 17-9 lead.
Tyree's jumper and Shuler's 3-pointer gave the Rebels their biggest lead at 27-17.
The Tigers got within three points before D.C. Davis' 3-pointer gave Ole Miss a 30-24 halftime lead.
