Mamukelashvili scored 21 points after intermission, but it was his kickout pass to Reynolds, who drained his only 3-pointer of the game from the left wing for a two-point lead, that was key to victory. Sam Sessoms then split two free throws for the Nittany Lions and the Pirates drained 5 of 6 free throws to ice it.

Myles Cale scored 16 points and Jared Rhoden added 15 for the Pirates (2-3), who scored 54 points in the paint but shot just 7 of 23 from the arc. Mamukelashvili shot 10 of 19 from the floor and added five rebounds, four assists and a pair of 3-pointers.

Early on Seton Hall looked like a team that was playing its third straight road game in three states in a span of five days. The Nittany Lions led by 19 points in the first half, but the Pirates changed to a full-court press and hit their first nine shots of the second half to take a 56-53 lead with 14:31 left.

Penn State got 10 points from Jones and three 3-pointers from Myles Dread, including one with 2:59 left that pushed the lead to 82-74. But Mamukelashvili scored five points and Rhoden dunked to tie the game 84-84 with 44 seconds left.

Sessoms and Jones both missed shots going to the hoop and the Hall had one last possession with eight seconds left, but Cale's wide-open 3-pointer from the right corner was short.

Dread, who hit the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer against VCU, finished with 14 points, six rebounds and three steals.
