Eugene Omoruyi scored a game-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting as Oregon snapped a two-game losing streak with an 86-74 Pac-12 victory against Washington on Saturday afternoon in Eugene, Ore.
Will Richardson, playing in just his second game of the season after surgery on his left thumb, scored 19 points and had a game-high five assists and Jalen Terry added 15 points for the Ducks, making five 3-pointers.
Short-handed Oregon (10-4 overall, 5-3 Pac-12) posted its first victory since Jan. 9, as five of the Ducks' previous seven games were postponed by coronavirus concerns.
Quade Green scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half for the Huskies (3-14, 2-10), who suffered their third consecutive defeat and dropped to 0-7 on the road this season. Marcus Tsohonis came off the bench to score 15 points and Jamal Bey added 13.
The Ducks were without two starters, guard Chris Duarte and forward Eric Williams Jr. Duarte, the team's leading scorer and a finalist for the Jerry West Award as shooting guard of the year, suffered a right ankle injury in Thursday's 74-71 loss to visiting Washington State and sat on the bench Saturday with a walking boot on his right leg. Williams Jr. has yet to clear COVID-19 protocols after the Ducks' program was shut down twice in the past month.
Oregon led 42-31 at the half and maintained its double-digit lead throughout the second half. The Huskies made a late 10-0 run to pull within 76-65 with 4:13 left, but Oregon responded with eight consecutive points to put the game away.
Neither team led by more than four points in the opening 10 minutes before Terry's 3-pointer gave the Ducks a 27-20 advantage with 9:43 left. That was part of an 8-0 run that included a three-point play by Franck Kepnang and a layup by Amauri Hardy.
The Huskies never got closer than six points the rest of the way, with Omoruyi making a 3-pointer with three seconds left to give the Ducks an 11-point lead, their largest before the intermission.
